After seeing his side lose 2-1 at home to Bundesliga strugglers Werder Bremen, Peter Bosz admitted his time at Borussia Dortmund may be up.

Under-fire Borussia Dortmund coach Peter Bosz accepts he may be sacked after going eight league games without a win.

Dortmund were beaten 2-1 at home to Werder Bremen – who had not won away in the Bundesliga since April – on Saturday and now stand 13 points behind league leaders Bayern Munich.

Goals from Maximilian Eggestein and Theodor Gebre Selassie either side of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's equaliser piled further pressure on Bosz, with Dortmund having won just once in their last 13 matches in all competitions, against minnows Magdeburg in the DFB-Pokal.

And Bosz, who took charge in July after leading Ajax to the Europa League final last season, suggested he would not be surprised if he was dismissed before seventh-placed Dortmund's next game at Mainz on Tuesday.

"You never know, I'm at a big club and I think they [the board] have been quiet for a long time," Bosz told FOX Sports.

"It can now suddenly be over, but you know that when you're at a top club and you do not win a lot.

"I'm fighting, that's not the point, but I'm not talking about my own position."

Bosz's side failed to record a shot on target in the first half and the Dutchman conceded Dortmund's flat performance fell far short of the required standard.

"We have lost matches where we played well, but the first half of the game just hurt my eyes," added Bosz.

"I've never seen us playing so badly. This was an excellent opportunity to win again, but we did not do that.

"We're conceding a lot of goals every week, but you have to do a lot of things to win."
