After suffering a serious knee injury, Wilfried Bony is recuperating with the hope of returning to the Swansea CIty first team for pre-season.

The forward is thought to be progressing well in rehabilitation, and has focused his efforts of recovering in time to rejoin the 'Swans' ahead of the start of next season.

Bony suffered a ruptured cruciate ligament in a fixture against Leicester City last month, which ended his Premier League season. Swansea are currently just three points above the relegation zone

In an interview with the official club website, he said: ''I am feeling better, I am almost six weeks on now from the operation and things are going well. The doctors have told me that I am recovering fast and I could be back for pre-season, so that is my target.''

Bony added that: ''Mentally, I am feeling very strong. I am encouraging my team-mates, trying to motivate them and make them laugh. That is the best way to be.''

Addressing the potential relegation battle that the 'Swans' face, he said ''Everybody is trying everything to stay up. The manager has given the players a lot of motivation - he has lifted everyone. We are happier with our position now but we want more than that - we want to be secure."
