According to 'TNT Sports', Leeds United are interested in Valentin Castellanos, the footballer who was close to signing for River Plate. The Whites are searching for a number 9 and the Argentine is one of their options.

River Plate, always active in the transfer market, opted not to bring in the services of Argentian forward Valentin Castellanos. He could have been the icing on the cake to their squad.

The club were convinced that he would end up in their ranks, but he ultimately signed for New York City, a member of the 'City' Group.

Palmeiras have also been in the running for the player, but in the end they backed out. This is because the Yorkies' asking price of just over 14 million euros was too much for the Brazlian club.

Although he was denied a move to either of the two South American giants, as reported by 'TNT Sports', Leeds United have now expressed interest in making Yorkshire the next destination for the footballer from Mendoza.

The aforementioned source has stated that the Whites would be ready to offer New York City's asking price for the player. Bielsa is in desperate need of a number 9 and he could be working alongside Castellanos this summer.
