We take a look at some of the best performances from this week's round of La Liga fixtures. Do you agree with our side?

Goalkeeper: Sergio Asenjo (Villarreal)

The Villarreal goalkeeper made a series of fine saves against Valencia, denying Zaza on several occasions as he kept a clean sheet to earn his side a point and frustrate 'Los Che'.

Defender: Juan Cala (Getafe)

The centre-back got his side off to the perfect start against Las Palmas, scoring the opener after just six minutes, before putting in a strong performance to earn his side a clean sheet.

Defender: Gerard Pique (Barcelona)

Willing to carry the ball forward and strong at the back, all in the most hostile of environments. If this performance was anything to go by then Pique may be starting to get back to his best.

Defender: Inigo Martinez (Real Sociedad)

Sociedad eased past Sevilla 3-1 at the Anoeta in Carlos Vela's farewell match, with Martinez opening the scoring for the Basques.

Midfielder: Takashi Inui (Eibar)

Inui got his side off to the perfect start against Girona, scoring in the first minute before adding another later on. The Japanese was in sparkling form, showing his undoubted ability to the full.

Midfielder: Daniel Wass (Celta Vigo)

The Dane was everywhere in the Galician derby, heading home to open the scoring after four minutes before covering every blade of grass in the remaining 86.

Midfielder: Pablo Fornals (Villarreal)

The former Malaga man was a thorn in Valencia's side throughout at the Mestalla, regularly getting shots away and assisting Carlos Bacca for the only goal of the game.

Midfielder: Andres Iniesta (Barcelona)

The veteran is returning to something like his best form, much to Barca's relief. The skipper spent most of the first half of El Clasico pleading for calm from his team-mates and he eventually got it in a fine second-half display.

Forward: Iago Aspas (Celta Vgo)

The former Liverpool man was in no mood to lose the Galician derby and fired Celta to victory with a brace, the second of which was a delightful free kick from range.

Forward: Sergio Garcia (Espanyol)

The striker was a constant menace to the Atletico Madrid backline, with his goal giving Espanyol the victory and stripping Diego Simeone's side of their unbeaten status.

Forward: Lionel Messi (Barcelona)

Real Madrid must be sick of the sight of this man. His goal from the spot in El Clasico means that no other player has scored more goals against Real Madrid in La Liga than Messi, whilst he also laid on the third for Aleix Vidal.
