Bernardeschi's indelible tribute to Astori
Federico Bernardeschi has paid tribute to the late Davide Astori by tattooing his number onto his skin. Now, he'll wear Astori's 13 for the rest of his life.
It's well known that Federico Bernardechi is an immensly religious person. The Juventus forward's skin is covered in religious markings and verses, notably an 'Ave Maria' on his right arm that he recently added one subtle detail to: Astori's 13.
The number, that was donned by Astori at Fiorentina, was retired by the club to honour the late defender's legacy.
Bernardeschi played with Astori in Florence where the two men struck a strong bond. Now, he'll carry the memory of his ex-teammate everywhere he goes.
On Sunday, Fiorentina staged a touching tribute to their skipper. An impeccably respected minute's silence, Astori 13 training shirts, purple balloons, and a stop in play on the 13th minute provided moving scenes that shook the world of football.
