Benzema nets brace in game with Alaves
Karim Benzema got Real Madrid's third goal, his second, in the 62nd minute against Alaves after getting on the end of a rebound to make it 0-3.
Benzema has started the season how he ended last term. The Real Madrid striker hardly appeared in the first half, but he got two goals in the second 45.
He opened the scoring in the 48th minute after finishing off a good move with Hazard and he scored again 14 minutes after Nacho made it 0-2. The Frenchman was more alert in the area than the Alaves defence.
Benzema got a low pass from the right and he looked for a first time shot, but Aguirregabiria and Pacheco between them prevented it. The keper made a fine save, but was unable to send the ball far away from the goal.
Karim went confidently for the rebound and he got there first. The ball landed close to the edge of the six yard box and Benzema hit home to make it 0-3. Pacheco got a hand to it, but could not keep it out.
After that, Alaves pulled one back from the penalty spot through Joselu after a howler by Eder Militao which caused Courtois to bring down John Guidetti.
