Benteke ruled out against Bournemouth
Crystal Palace's Christian Benteke has confirmed that his injury means he is ruled out of the match against Bournemouth on Saturday.
Crystal Palace's Christian Benteke has confirmed that his injury means he is ruled out of the match against Bournemouth on Saturday.
The striker picked up a groin injury in training on Thrusday, and Palace manager Roy Hodgson had said that the 27-year-old's availability would be doubtful.
With Alexander Sorloth out since early March with a hamstring injury and Connor Wickham not having played in a year, Palace may be left without a recognised striker.
Benteke wrote on Twitter: ''Really disappointed I can't be out there helping the team tomorrow, I picked up a slight injury in training that shouldn't keep me out for long. The timing is frustrating but I'm sure the boys will bring three points home!''
Hodgson revealed that he has experienced more injury-related problems since joining Palace earlier in the season than in his managerial career at Fulham, Liverpool and West Brom combined.
