Benfica are looking for a defender to replace Alejandro Grimaldo, who has joined Bayer Leverkusen. As a result, the Portuguese side are interested in signing AZ Alkmaar left-back Milos Kerkez, according to 'Record'.

AZ Alkmaar left-back Milos Kerkez is the main contender to reinforce the Portuguese side's defence.  His performances have impressed several European clubs.

According to 'Record', the Dutchman is willing to join Benfica and has already informed his agent of his decision so that both parties can come to an agreement.

The 19-year-old has scored five goals and provided seven assists in 54 competitive matches this campaign. AZ Alkmaar will try to snatch the Champions League place from Ajax in their last two games of the season.
