Following Juventus' Champions League elimination to Real Madrid, Mehdi Benatia spoke to 'Le Figaro' about his outrage over the controversial penalty decision which ended the Serie A outfit's European dreams.

The defender did not hold back when talking the media outlet, arguing: "It was a violation, what do you want me to tell you? A violation".

"We played the game we wanted, we put three past Madrid and we showed that the first leg did not reflect our value. Then comes this play in the 93rd minute, with Vazquez who wants to control the ball with his chest, I avoid touching him and hit the ball with my left foot. He falls and the referee has the courage to blow for a penalty".

Benatia expanded on his reasons for the anger: "A penalty like that can not be granted, none less than in the 93rd minute. There is minimal contact with my thigh, but it is part of football, and there is no intention of pushing him".

He concluded: "This is horrible, we have the feeling of having been violated, as it happened a year ago to Bayern with two or three goals in offside positions. The usual story: Madrid doesn't need this kind of help".
