Medhi Benatia of Juventus was caught up in a scrap with Atalanta's Marten de Roon, leading to both players receiving a yellow card, and the defender to receive a dressing down from his boss.

The centre-back was seen emerging from the fight with his match shirt torn to shreds, after throwing De Roon to the ground. Whilst both players were booked for their behaviour, Benatia received a suspension after an earlier caution and will not play against SPAL on Saturday.

Two minutes earlier, Atalanta's Gianluca Mancini had been sent off with a red card during the fiery clash. Shortly after the scuffle, Matuidi scored again for Juventus for them to emerge victorious in a 2-0 win against Atalanta.

In a post-match interview with 'Gazzetta dello Sport', Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri revealed that he gave the centre-back an earful for his display and that the issue was now resolved. '

'With Medhi everything is resolved, I scolded him because he was already disqualified for yellow and was in danger. Shut up and breathe. You could not go on like this all evening,' he said.  Allegri, who was understandably worried about the possibility of a red card, added: ''It was just a moment of rage. Benatia is a good guy, but when he closes his vein it becomes impossible to mark, I had to tell him to shut up because he did not stop anymore.''

'Juve' team-mate Miralem Pjanic also spoke out in support of Benatia, telling 'Calcio Merato': ''During the action the shirt was held back and Benatia was angry, but in the end he calmed down, a pity that he took this yellow, but he made an excellent match and nothing happened'.
