Toulouse manager Pascal Dupraz has revealed that Sevilla's new signing Wissam Ben Yedder rejected the chance to join Arsenal, favouring a move to the Europa League winners.

Ben Yedder signed a five-year contract with Sevilla, but the Andalusian side were not the only club vying for the 25-year-old's signature according to his former manager.

"He could have gone to Arsenal, who are one of the best," Dupraz told 'Estadio Deportivo'.

"But Sevilla are also a big club and I think La Liga is perfect for him, because he is a technical player and very attacking".

Arsenal continue their search for a striker, with Alexandre Lacazette of Lyon and Inter Milan's Mauro Icardi said the be the two names at the top of Arsene Wenger's shortlist.
