As 'The Telegraph' reported, Madrid want a bigger and better squad for the 2023/24 season. Their main targets are two players who have been waiting for their moment in the squad: Jude Bellingham and Kylian Mbappe.
It seems, in the case of the English international, the deal is about to be sealed. According to 'Bild', emissaries from the Spanish giants will travel to Germany in the next few days to close out the deal with Borussia Dortmund.
It's worth remembering that Bellingham himself gave the 'ok' a few days ago and all that remains is for both entities to reach an agreement over the finances. The German side want 150 million euros, while Madrid are willing to offer 100 million guaranteed, plus 20 million in easily-attainable bonuses and another 20 million for more difficult tasks, like winning a Ballon d'Or.
The same outlet claimed that the envoys Madrid will send will be Jose Angel Sanchez, general executive director and legal advisor Javier Lopez-Farre.
Bringing the Englishman to Madrid is a priority of the top flight club. Despite the almost-guaranteed renewals of Kroos and Modric, Madrid wants to have its future generations secured and they are well-aware how many clubs want to sign the midfielder.
The outlet also reported that Bellingham would earn 20 million euros a season in Madrid. This would make it easy for the player to turn down the 14 million offered to him by Dortmund.
