England manager Gareth Southgate gave an interview to the 'BBC' in which he spoke about England's role in the upcoming European Championship. He also praised Jude Bellingham, saying he has an insatiable desire to win.

England manager Gareth Southgate said Real Madrid's Jude Bellingham has an "insatiable desire to win" and that it is that mentality that has made him such a good fit for the club.

The England coach gave an interview to the BBC two months before the start of the European Championship, which could be his last tournament with the 'Three Lions', and spoke about Bellingham.

He's shown amazing maturity to settle into the biggest club in world football in terms of their history, and to have the impact he's had with the number of goals, big goals, winning goals,” Southgate said.

Bellingham, who has already made 29 appearances for England's senior side, has scored 22 goals and provided 10 assists in his first season at Real Madrid, as well as winning the Spanish Super Cup, La Liga and being in the Champions League final at Wembley on 1 June.

The England boss also denied recent rumours of a move to Manchester United next season: "My focus is purely on doing the best I can for England, and everything else is irrelevant to me. The rest is irrelevant to me - will I be working in club football in the future? If I start talking about it, it will distract me. People want me to focus my attention on the national team."
