The pandemic has marked social relations. Hugging is already almost a risky activity and in football, despite the bubble, the Belgian League wants to end them so that the players set an example. They will be sanctioned with a yellow card and up to 750 euros, and the proceeds will go to an association that supports people who feel alone.

The organisers of the Belgian first and second division, Pro League, have decided to sanction with a yellow card and fine of 750 euros players and coaching staff members who hug during celebrations on the park, and fine their clubs 10,000 additional euros.

"The Pro League wants to remind all professional football players of their responsibilities and support those who, during this (pandemic) period, pay attention and offer a virtual shoulder to those in need", the statement indicated.

Sanctions will also be applied in the case of hugs and effusive celebrations in the dressing room, with a maximum limit of 10,000 euros for first division clubs and 5,000 for second divsion clubs. In addition, the league will consider forcing offenders to participate in social activities.

The money collected will go to the non-profit association, 'Télé-Accueil', which offers a support phone number to people who feel alone.
