Bayern return for Alexis Sanchez

Bayern Munich need to make several alterations to their squad if they are to remain competitive and to do so they will resume their pursuit of Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez.

As revealed by 'ESPN', the Bundesliga giants will head back in for Sanchez in January, aiming to get there ahead of Manchester City, who were expecting him on a free next summer and were the club most closely linked to the Chilean.

Chairman Stan Kroenke and Arsene Wenger are hoping to retain both Sanchez and Mesut Ozil but the players' wishes will ultimately prevail. Reports in Germany have assured the Chilean will ply his trade at the Allianz Arena starting next January.

The Bavarians believe Sanchez is the perfect man to bolster their ranks after star striker Robert Lewandowski complained about the workload he is currently under, and the increasingly pressing matter of finding eventual successors to Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben, long-time wing servants who will turn 35 and 34, respectively, before June.

Lined up as a decent replacement for the ageing pair, Bayern Munich could frustrate Manchester City with a big-money swoop for the coveted Arsenal star, while also presenting the Gunners with another headache come January.
