Michy Batshuayi's incredible form since joining Borussia Dortmund on loan from Chelsea in January has helped the fans of the Bundesliga club move on from the departure of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

It was one of the biggest talking points of the January transfer window when Aubameyang's mega money move to Arsenal started a domino effect which saw Olivier Giroud move to Chelsea and their young striker Batshuayi join Dortmund temporarily.

However, it appears that the German outfit have received the best end of the deal so far with the Belgian scoring five goals in his first three games, including an injury-time winner against Atalanta in their Europa League first leg last week.

To put his form into context, it took Aubameyang - who left Dortmund with an incredible 98 goals from 144 appearances - seven games to find the net five times and former striker Robert Lewandowski took even longer with 22.

Batshuayi may not have his Gabonese predecessor's pace or Lewandowski's technical ability, but it seems that he is exactly what Dortmund need right now: a reliable goalscorer who doesn't grab headlines for negative reasons

The Bundesliga club were low on confidence and struggling to get results, but that has all changed since the 24-year-old's arrival.

He hasn't been afraid to put himself about in games, offering a physical presence up top, and his prolific form has helped Mario Gotze, Andre Schurrle and Marco Reus regain some of their best form and fitness.

It's incredible given Batshuayi's inconsistent game-time at Chelsea and although he probably won't be a permanent solution for Dortmund, he is no doubt fixing their season at just the right time.
