Barcelona and Hansi Flick are on course to extend their partnership, with the club planning to offer the German coach a contract extension this summer, despite his current deal running until 2026.

Barcelona's sporting director Deco has already started preparing to begin contract extension negotiations this summer in an effort to ensure Hansi Flick's long-term future with the team.

The German coach's current contract expires in 2026, but the club wants to reach an agreement ahead of time to prevent rumours and guarantee stability. The German coach, who took over from Xavi Hernandez last summer, has impressed the Barcelona board with his goal-hungry style of play and positive results.

Under Flick's guidance, Barcelona have already clinched the Spanish Super Cup and are well-positioned in La Liga, Copa del Rey, and the Champions League. While both parties are in no rush to finalise the extension, there is a mutual understanding and desire to continue the successful partnership.

Flick has consistently deflected questions about his future, emphasising his focus on the present and the team's performance. The proposed extension is expected to include a salary increase, reflecting Flick's achievements and his importance to the club's future plans.
