Barcelona speed up move for right-back, United insist on Dest
Sergino Dest will be the next to leave Barcelona, who are looking to strengthen the right-back position. Manchester United are interested in signing the American.
The summer transfer window continues and Xavi Hernandez's plans are becoming clearer in terms of his squad. The Barcelona coach is not counting on Dest, who will be leaving... and has options to go to Manchester United.
"We need to sign players," Ten Hag said after the Red Devils' awful start to the season. The American full-back is one of the targets, but before signing him they have work to do.
According to 'Sport', United are looking for a team for Aaron Wan-Bissaka, a full-back who has not been a success at Old Trafford. After his departure, the English team will go for Sergino Dest, who was absent from the squad against Rayo Vallecano.
Barcelona's target is to receive around 20 million euros for Dest, or to sell him on with a mandatory buyout clause. At the same time, the 'Cules' want to sign a guaranteed reinforcement for that position.
At the start of the summer, the board decided to release Dani Alves. Now, with Dest on the way out, Barcelona are considering several options, according to sports journalist Gerard Romero.
The first of these is Thomas Meunier, followed by Jeremie Frimpong, Wan-Bissaka himself, Juan Foyth and Diogo Dalot. At the moment, Araujo is playing as a full-back, but they prefer to use the Uruguayan at centre-back.
