Barcelona have it in their hands to become La Liga champions. The schedule has decided that the Catalan team will face Real Madrid on matchday 35 and, given the current standings, they dream of becoming champions against their eternal rivals.
In the middle of the week of the Copa 'Clasico', where they will face each other again in a final -the second one this season-, both Barcelona and Real Madrid solved their matches, which makes it possible for Barca to be proclaimed La Liga champions in the next 'Clasico', which both will play on May 11th.
In order for Barcelona to be proclaimed champions of La Liga in Montjuïc in the ‘Clasico’, they first need a favour from Celta Vigo. The in-form Giraldez team visits Real Madrid. Only a win for the Gailician side would make it possible for the 'Cules' to win the league title in the following week.
In this way, Barcelona, who in turn would have to beat Valladolid, would be 7 points ahead with 12 to play for. If they also win the 'Clasico', they would be 10 points clear with 9 to play for, and would mathematically become La Liga champions.
