'Mundo Deportivo' confirmed Barca's interest in the Tottenham player, but Daniel Levy, with a exorbitant price, meant a possible move was off.

Before going hard for Lautaro Martinez, Barcelona thought about Harry Kane as a subsitute for Luis Suarez.

The option of signing the English striker came about more than a year ago when Josep Maria Bartomeu contacted Daniel Levy to find out how much the attacker would cost.

That conversaton, confirmed by 'Mundo Deportivo' did not go as expected. Levy put a crazily high price tag on Kane.

After spending millions of pounds on a new stadium, the North Londoners will not give away their star players on the cheap and it looks like Harry Kane will be staying at the club for a fair while yet.

Once they heard the asking price, Barcelona started to look for alternatives and began to seriously think about signing Lautaro Martinez. He seems to be the number one target for next season.
