The Catalan giants have scored 1.2 goals less per game this past month, causing people to doubt Valverde and fear the side have lost their scoring instinct at a crucial time of the season.

Until their 5-0 thrashing of Real Betis on 21st January, Barcelona had netted 80 times in 31 games (2.58 goals per game). In the past month, however, Barca have 'only' scored an average of 1.38 goals per game

Although Valverde's side have La Liga all but wrapped up and only Sevilla to defeat for another Copa del Rey, fans are starting to get nervous at the lack of goals

Valverde, who's backline was undone by Chelsea, was hoping to bank on the assured quality in front of goal of strikers Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi

Chelsea, however, were able to handle the Uruguayan. Only the Argentinian was able to find the net for his team at Stamford Bridge, putting an end to his curse of not having scored against the Blues

This past month, Barcelona put two goals past Espanyol in the Copa del Rey and then went on to beat Valencia 1-0 and 2-0 in the competition. In La Liga, Valverde's side netted two against Alaves and Eibar, and one against Espanyol.

Although a 1-1 draw with Chelsea provides Barca with a valuable away goal to take to the return fixture at the Camp Nou, fans will be desperate to see more goals from their star men - particularly Ousmane Dembele, the club's second most expensive signing, who was spotted warming up at Stamford Bridge but didn't feature in the match.
