Barcelona shared, on their social media, a photograph of Pedri Gonzalez, who returned to the pitch in Xavi Hernandez's training sessions, although he did not train with the rest of the group and his return will have to wait.
Barcelona midfielder Pedro Gonzalez 'Pedri' worked on Thursday on the pitch at the Ciudad Deportiva Joan Gamper on the sidelines as another step towards his recovery. The Canary Islander left the La Liga match at San Mames on 3 March with tears in his eyes after injuring his rectus femoris in his right thigh.
However, this morning, he could be seen at the Sant Joan Despi facilities working on the pitch, smiling, in an image released by the Catalan club. With 48 hours to go until they host Las Palmas at the Estadio Olimpico Lluis Companys, Xavi Hernandez was finally able to count on all the internationals in a session in which defenders Ronald Araujo and Andreas Christensen returned to training on the fringes of the group.
As well as the available first-team players, Barca Atletic players Diego Kochen, Mika Faye, Marc Casado and Mamadou Mbacke also took part in the training session.
The team will return to work this Friday (11:00) at the Ciudad Deportiva. After the session, Xavi will appear at a press conference to assess the upcoming league game against Las Palmas.
