The 2020-21 season pointed to a return to the classics tops at Barcelona, after several consecutive seasons of risky designs. But Nike had a surprise in store for us, in the form of a fourth kit.
The norm in modern football is that clubs have a home kit, an away kit and a 3rd kit that in the case of clubs playing in Europe can be used away from home for marketing reasons.
However, it's increasingly normal for the big clubs to have a 4th kit, or a 1st kit for when they play in the Champions League. Borussia Dortmund are an example of this, and maybe with this Nike design designed by 'Sport', Barca will copy them.
Barcelona's 1st kit for 2020-21 will be a return to the classic kits. 3 verticle blue stripes, two granite ones and fine verticle lines separating them, with writing and yellow on the collar.
This, a clear homage to the 2010-11 kit, would be accompanied by two classic Nike designs for the secondary kits, in plain colours without decoration: a black one with gold details and a pink one with black details.
