Ernesto Valverde halted the signing of Yerry Mina, which was meant to be completed during the next January transfer window, because he wanted more experienced players, but the Catalan giants are not nervous about the possibility of missing out on the centre-back.

At 23 years old, Yerry Mina already has many attributes which he could bring to Barcelona's centre of defence, which is currently taken up by Pique and Umtiti. The Palmeiras player is ready to make the jump to Europe, but he wants to do it as soon as possible.

The Barcelona coach, Ernesto Valverde, wants to move more slowly with regards to Yerry Mina's arrival at the Camp Nou, because he does not have experience of European football, which was the main reason for delaying the arrival of the defender from Palmeiras.

In the latest instalment of this saga, Sampdoria want to get involved, and they are reportedly considering the option of offering Yerry Mina a succulent deal to bring him to Italy.

However, despite this reported interest, Spanish publication 'Mundo Deportivo' report that in Catalonia, they are far from nervous about the status of the Colombian defender, because they feel they still have the agreement in place with Palmeiras, and they don't plan on bringing it forward or delaying it.

Barcelona will reportedly pay 9 million euros for the services of Yerry Mina, who will arrive just after the World Cup in Russia. Whilst the immediate future of the Sampdoria target is up in the air, Barcelona are confident that they are still in pole position to land one of the biggest prospects in Brazilian football when they choose to bring him to Europe. They are not yet panicking in the office of the Camp Nou.
