Carles Tusquets, president of the Barcelona Management Board, spoke about the financial situation that he had encountered on his arrival. Asked about Leo Messi, he said that "he would have sold him in the summer" only for the financial relief it would have represented. He also acknowledged that they can't face the January wage bill.

The president of the Barcelona Management Commission Carles Tusquets explained on Thursday that he didn't want "to sign any invoices from the previous board" because "we didn't see them clearly".

Tusquets, in an interview to 'El Món a RAC 1', said that "these invoices will be forwarded to the board of directors" that win the next elections. "I will not say what this is about, but these are things that are not well formulated nor do we believe that they are in line with the market price", he said without giving details.

The current head of the azulgrana club and who was president of the Economic Commission during the mandate of Josep Maria Bartomeu also referred to the fact that Messi was about to leave Barca in the last window: "From the economic point of view I would have sold Messi in the summer. It would have been desirable for the money that the club would have received and that would have been saved".
