Catalan publication 'Sport' reports that La Liga pacesetters Barcelona could be set to test PSG's resolve with a summer move for Verratti.
The Italian international was high on Barca's wanted list last summer, but PSG manager to stave off the interest in part thanks to the big-money arrivals of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.
However, following another season of disappointment in Europe, with the Italian showing his frustration by getting himself sent off for dissent against Real, they may find it more difficult to keep their stars happy.
According to the aforementioned source, Verratti is closer to the exit door than he has been in some time and with Barca legend Xavi having recently described the 25-year-old as his ideal replacement, perhaps a move would suit all parties.
