Barca eye sensational triple raid

Reports in Spain claim that Barcelona are considering raiding German club Bayer Leverkusen for three of their brightest young stars.

Spanish publication 'Sport', claims that the club's sporting director Robert Fernandez and chief scout Urbano Ortega were both in attendance at the BayArena for the 2-2 against Wolfsburg on Sunday afternoon as they cast their eye over a trio of potential targets.

The players in question were defender Jonathan Tah and wingers Julian Brandt and Leon Bailey, who all started the game.

The aforementioned source claims that the Catalans have scouted a number of Bundesliga games in recent months, but that it is the Leverkusen trio that is most of interest to them at the moment.

21-year-old Tah is an imposing central defender who, despite his young age, is already a Germany international.

The strapping stopper has made three appearances for his national side and was a key part of Bayer's defence last season, making 26 appearances in all competitions.

The former Hamburg man has been tipped for big things and is understood to have a £22m release clause in his contract at the BayArena, which runs until 2020.

Brandt, for his part, is a flying winger, who already has a dozen Germany caps and over 100 Bundesliga appearances to his name.

The 21-year-old is thought to be one of Germany's brightest talents and with his club reluctant to sell he is expected to go for big bucks.

He was practically ever-present for Bayer last season, making 40 appearances in all competitions.

Finally, Bailly only joined the German side from Genk in January but he is another player with boundless potential.

Manchester United were thought to be seriously interested in the Jamaican before he headed for Germany, with his electric turn of pace enough to frighten the life out of even the most organised of defences.

The interest in youngsters may stem from Barca being 'burned' by Ousmane Dembele, after paying a huge mark-up to lure the player to Catalonia just 12 months after he rejected a move to the club.

Whether Barca make a move for the trio remains to be seen, but they would be fools not to consider deals for three of the Bundesliga's best and brightest.
