Barcelona are preparing a contract extension for Ferran Torres, aiming to secure the winger until 2029 with revised performance bonuses, according to reports from SPORT.
Barcelona have outlined a proposal to extend Ferran Torres’ contract until 2029, retaining his current base salary while significantly increasing performance-related bonuses. The club has advanced contractual terms, though the deal remains unresolved, as confirmed by David Bernabeu.
Torres, whose current deal expires in 2027, has scored 13 goals in 32 appearances this season, with only 10 starts. Coach Hansi Flick values his impact, particularly as a substitute, where he has contributed eight goals, the highest number of such goals in La Liga.
The renewal shows Barcelona's confidence in the versatility and professionalism of Torres who despite rumours of interest from other strikers such as Newcastle's Alexander Isak has continued to work and remain focused on contributing to the team.
The proposed terms align with Barca's strategy of incentivising performance over increasing players' fixed salaries.
