Gareth Bale put in another strong performance in Madrid's famous white shirt against Leganes. The No. 11 opened the scoring after eight minutes and ended up finishing the game with the captain's armband.
In fact, it was the first time Bale wore the armband in an official game since his Galactico signing in 2013. Benzema was given the honour from the start, but after he was replaced by Asensio, Bale took the reins.
There was, however, a bit of confusion. Benzema gave the armband to Asensio who, after a few seconds of doubt, handed it over to the Welshman.
Despite his solid performance, Bale is still expected to feature on the bench against Bayern on Tuesday. Having played the full 90, Zinedine Zidane did not think to rest his No. 11 ahead of the Champions League second-leg.
