Bale opened the scoring for Real Madrid in emphatic fashion
Gareth Bale was handed a rare start for Real Madrid on Saturday as Zinedine Zidane shuffled his pack ahead of the Champions League clash with Juventus and the Welshman took full advantage.
A trip to a Las Palmas side that are scrapping away for points at the foot of the division looked like a potential banana skin for Real Madrid.
However, Bale eased any nerves after 26 minutes as he opened the scoring.
Las Palmas gave the ball away in midfield and Luka Modric sent Bale racing away down the left.
From there, Bale did what Bale does best, outstruipping a defender before shooting powerfully across Chichizola and into the far top corner.
