Several years later, Gareth Bale and Marc Bartra meet again after that infamous Cup final in which the Welshman's blistering pace ran circles around the former Barcelona defender.

The 2014 Copa del Rey final between Carlo Ancelotti's Real Madrid and 'Tata' Martino's Barcelona left an iconic image in spectator's minds. Angel Di Maria gave 'Los Blancos' the lead before Bartra equalised, although the centre-back would go down in history that day for a totally different reason.

In the 85th minute, Madrid were shaking under the substantial pressure from their 'Clasico' rivals, trying to generate a counterattack to change the seemingly inevitable fate of the match. The ball fell to Bale, who was stuck at the side-line without a team-mate in sight, not that it would stop him.

Launching an impossible through ball to himself, the Wales international chased down the left wing after running around Bartra, who couldn't keep up with Bale's blistering pace.

It would be too late for the Spaniard. His 28-year-old opposition was through on goal and made no mistake of his shot, sealing a historic 2-1 victory for Madrid over their eternal rivals, while Bartra laid on the grass after suffering a thigh injury during the chase.

Since then, neither player has faced one another... until now. Madrid take on Real Betis on Sunday in what will be an interesting reunion for the two players.

Zinedine Zidane will most certainly use Bale in his starting XI after the Welshman featured from the bench against Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday whilst Bartra's experience will likely be called upon by Quique Setien.

Let's see who comes out with the positive memories this time.
