Bale hit with another injury blow
Real Madrid released an official statement with an update on the status of Welsh forward Gareth Bale, who has suffered another injury setback.
Los Blancos have released a statement to provide an update on Bale's situation, and they have confirmed that he suffered a tear in his thigh in his left leg.
Bale decided not to travel with Wales on their international duty in order to fully recover for Madrid in the hope of making it back for the derby against Atletico, which will be Real's first appearance at the Wanda Metropolitana.
However, his return will have to wait, because the Welshman has suffered another injury,
The 28-year-old will likely face several more weeks on the sidelines, but the club from the Spanish capital are yet to confirm exactly how long they expect him to be ruled out. Since playing in the Champions League on September 26, Bale has not played a single minute for the current European champions.
The statement on their website read:
"Our player Gareth Bale, who felt some discomfort in his left leg at the end of Thursday's training session, today underwent various tests carried out by the Real Madrid Sanitas medical team. He has been diagnosed with a strain to the middle third of the adductor longus muscle in his left leg. His recovery will continue to be assessed."
