It's not all good news for Bayer Leverkusen. The Bundesliga leaders saw Florian Wirtz leave the DFB Pokal encounter with an injury and a lot of concern.

The alarm bells went off quickly at Bayer Leverkusen. Just before the end of the first half, Florian Wirtz went off injured and with signs of a serious injury.

The talented striker for Xabi Alonso's side suffered a hard tackle from Bilbija, who stepped on his foot in the area of the Achilles tendon. Wirtz reproached his opponent for the action.

The Leverkusen player limped off the pitch, showing signs of pain and was quickly escorted by the club doctors to the dressing room without going to the bench, while Xabi Alonso showed his concern.

Wirtz already knows what it is like to have a serious injury. He missed the World Cup in Qatar with a torn cruciate ligament. Now, he hopes that what he suffered in the DFB Pokal is just a scare, pending further tests.
