Good news for the football world in general and Nottingham Forest in particular. Taiwo Awoniyi is out of the coma he was induced to undergo emergency surgery for a serious abdominal injury.
The Tricky Trees player had to undergo two stages of surgery to repair the damage, reports the BBC. Following Monday's operation, doctors induced a coma in Awoniyi, who was operated on again on Wednesday to close the wound.
After both operations, Awoniyi, according to the British public broadcaster, has successfully awoken from the coma, which is a relief for the whole football world.
The player hit the post against Leicester, in a move that should have been disallowed earlier, and despite signs of pain, continued to play for several more minutes. This led to an argument between Nuno, his coach, and Marinakis, his chairman, at the end of the game.
