Ralf Rangnick was United's first choice in being the person to rebuild the team. He arrived at Old Trafford in December 2021 to take over from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and he is contracted until 2024.

Once this season is over, Ralf Rangnick will take his position on the United board as sporting director. With this being said, the club are working on who should replace the German on the touchline next season.

Although the Austrain Football Federation themselves denied the reports on Twitter, Manchester United will have to conscious of the fact that offers may come in the summer to lure the current manager and future sporting director away from the club.
