Atletico without Cunha, Witsel and Gimenez
Atletico Madrid had three key players missing in training. Matheus Cunha, Axel Witsel and Jose Maria Gimenez were all absent.
Atletico Madrid are now preparing to return to action, The first game will be the Copa del Rey second round clash against lower league side Arenteiro.
Simeone was missing three players in training, as well as those who are still at the World Cup or have just left it.
Gimenez, Witsel and Cunha were not in Tuesday's session, 'Mundo Deportivo' reported. The Uruguayan has an injury to his foot, the Belgian has fatigue and the Brazilian, a muscle strain.
Simeone was able to count on Felipe, after working in the gym on Monday, while Koke, Alvaro Morata and Marcos Llorente trained with the group for the first time. The trio had represented Spain at the World Cup.
Up to 11 academy players trained with the Atletico squad which could play Wednesday's friendly against Ponferradina.
