Atletico's decision on Pablo Barrios' future
According to 'Mundo Deportivo', the Atletico Madrid board want to renew Pablo Barrios' contract. The 19-year-old midfielder is in the spotlight due to his good performances.
Pablo Barrios impressed everyone with a great performance against Elche at the Metropolitano. The 19-year-old academy player made his debut as a starter.
Atletico coach Diego Simeone praised him: "When you see a footballer who plays without fear... it's incredible. Pablo Barrios has a promising future and hopefully it will be with us.
"He is a boy who is humble and wants to learn. He has those characteristics that lead you to be a great footballer. Football has no age," the coach added.
Barrios has a contract with the Spanish side until 2025. However, according to 'Mundo Deportivo', the board are considering renewing him.
Several Spanish clubs are interested in bringing him in on loan, but for the moment Atletico have no intention of letting him leave.
