Atletico Madrid played very well in their La Liga clash against Valladolid. They went in with a three goal lead, something which has happened just twice before at the Metropolitano.

Atletico Madrid were far too good against Valladolid. Despite the fact Atletico Madrid took their foot off the gas at the start of the second half, the truth is that they were the much better side in the first half.

They ended up with a three goal lead at the interval with a three goal advantage. That led us to bring an interesting stat for games at the Metropolitano.

It was the third time Atletico had gone in with a three goal lead at the interval at the ground since moving to their new home. The first of them was in the 2018-19 season against Huesca. The latter was more recent. That was last season in the Copa del Rey clash against Rayo Majadahonda.

Coach Diego Simeone said that Atletico's performance against Valladolid reminded of him of when they were at their best at the Vicente Calderon.
