Arsenal hosted Manchester United at the Emirates Stadium for their Premier League matchday four fixture. Although the Gunners won 3-1 at home, their first goal did not come until the 28th minute.
The London side should have taken the lead in the 13th minute but new signing Kai Havertz miskicked horrendously from inside the area with the goal at his mercy.
This blunder by the German international created a lot of controversy on social media as the midfielder's goalscoring abilities were questioned.
Spanish coach Mikel Arteta spoke to the press after the home win and was asked about the former Chelsea midfielder. The 41-year-old compared his situation to his relationship with his wife.
"I said to him [Havertz] on Saturday when things are hard in the beginning when I met my wife it was hard in the beginning. I had to work and message, if she says yes on the first day it is probably no good," he said.
"[What won her over?] persistence, I think. We took the plane on Sunday, we took the metro. We win games, and that's the beauty of it."
