Arsenal want Overmars as technical director
Former Arsenal midfielder Marc Overmars has emerged as the club's first choice to become technical director.
Overmars has spent the last seven years as director of football at Ajax, and has overseen the development of exciting youngsters Frenkie de Jong, Matthijs de Ligt and Justin Kluivert.
The Dutchman is being lined up as a replacement for Sven Mislintant, who currently serves as Arsenal's head of recruitment. The German, who was influential in the signings of the likes of Bernd Leno and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, looks set to leave the Gunners amidst unrest in the club's scouting department.
