The 'Daily Mail' reports that Arsenal are thinking of offering Leicester City Maitland-Niles and Reiss Nelson in exchange for James Maddison or, at least, a reduction in his price. The Gunners have been interested in the midfielder for some time and they would not mind of letting those two footballers go.

Maitland-Niles and Reiss Nelson are on the way out of Arsenal, so the club are thinking of doing something usual with their sales. The 'Daily Mail' says they could become part of a swap deal with Leicester City to sign James Maddison. The midfielder's high asking price, with a market value of 39 million euros, is the main reason this option is being considered.

The Gunners board are hoping the Foxes let their player leave in exchange for Maitland-Niles and Nelson or at least that they reduce the price. As the coronavirus crisis has hit clubs' coffers, this would be a big help to Arsenal.

The ball is in Leicester court. They have to decide whether the offer is good for them both financially and on the pitch. It is most probably not a good swap for Leicester on the pitch as former Norwich player Maddison is one of the leaders of the Leicester squad.

Leicester also have some control as Maddison's contract does not expire until June 2024. There is more than enough time to hold talks to try and reach an agreement.
