Cedric Soares, who has made just two competitive appearances for Arsenal this season, is being targeted by two European clubs for the January transfer window, according to 'The Sun'.

Portuguese defender Cedric Soares is not getting the playing time expected at Arsenal since his arrival from Southampton in the 2019/20 season.

The 32-year-old started to play less and less after last campaign, where he made just four competitive appearances. He has played two games this term - in the Carabao Cup and Champions League - but his days at Arsenal are numbered.

According to 'The Sun', two European clubs are keeping an eye on his situation as Soares could be looking for a new destination in the next transfer window. His current contract expires at the end of the season but he is likely to leave the Emirates Stadium a few months earlier.

La Liga side Villarreal are interested in securing his services from January and the right-back would not be a bad idea to try his luck in the Spanish top-flight. The other suitor is a Turkish club, whose name is unknown,
