The Gunners are increasingly looking to their Academy. The young talents of the London club's youth academy are fighting to make it to the first team, and now another promising player is emerging: Charlie Patiño.
He is 17 years old, but he is already playing with Arsenal's U-23 team. And that is no coincidence. This attacking midfielder, of Spanish ancestry, is making progress at breakneck speed, and there are already those who see him knocking on Arteta's door in the not too distant future.
But who is Charlie Patiño? He was born in Watford, northwest London, in 2003. His surname gives him away: he is the son of a Galician emigrant.
He is, therefore, English by birth, but because of his ancestry, he has the doors of the Spanish national team open to him, as 'AS' states.
He arrived at Arsenal after starting at Luton Town, and in the Arsenal academy, he moved from team to team as he got older. At the age of 15 he made his debut with the U18s, and at 17 he made his debut with the U23s.
Now his goal is to reach the first team. For the moment he has already trained some times under Arteta's orders, who surely does not lose sight of this young talent.
