Arsenal and Italy full-back Riccardo Calafiori is set to be ruled out for two to three weeks after suffering a "collateral knee injury" in Thursday's 2-1 defeat to Germany in the first leg of the Nations League quarter-finals.

Riccardo Calafiori was forced off in the closing moments of  Italy's 2-1 defeat to Germany after having picked up a knee injury at the San Siro in the first leg of the Nations League quarter-finals.

Medical tests carried out earlier on Friday by the Italy medical team revealed that the 22-year-old Italian defender sustained a "collateral knee injury between first and second degree," which could keep him out for two to three weeks.

Calafiori is ruled out for Sunday's second leg against Germany at Signal Iduna Park and has therefore left the 'Azzurri' camp to fly back to north London, where he will undergo one final assessment with the Arsenal staff.

He is set to sit out Arsenal's Premier League clashes against Fulham and Everton following the international break and will have to race against time to be available for the Champions League quarter-final first leg against Real Madrid on April 8.
