Arsenal reach verbal agreement with Timber
Arsenal are not only looking to strengthen their midfield but are also working on their defence. The Gunners have reached a verbal agreement with Jurrien Timber. They offered £40.5m to Ajax.
Arsenal are working on bolstering their squad for next season. Mikel Arteta does not want to make the same mistakes as last season.
They have already signed Kai Havertz (£65 million) from Chelsea to strengthen their midfield and Declan Rice (£105 million) is expected to join as well.
Moreover, according to the 'Daily Mail', Ajax centre-back Jurrien Timber is very close to becoming the Gunners' third reinforcement as both parties have reached a verbal agreement on his transfer.
The same media outlet reports that the English side will pay 40.5 million pounds for the 22-year-old. Ajax were expecting 50 million pounds for their defender but Timber has shown an interest in joining the Premier League and they will accept that offer.
Timber has been a key player for Ajax as he played 47 competitive matches last season, scoring two goals and providing two assists.
