Jens Lehmann, a former Arsenal goalkeeper, gave his opinion on Unai Emery's time at the helm of the Gunners. In statements to 'Stadium Astro', he believes the board's decision to bring the Spanish coach was a mistake.

Unai Emery was ar the helm of Arsenal during the 2018-19 season. After that, the Gunner club decided to dispense with his services.

Former Gunner goalkeeper Jens Lehmann gave his views on Emery's role at the Emirates Stadium. "When Wenger left, the board changed the entire organisation. I think they made a mistake and chose the wrong men..." he said at 'Stadium Astro', referring to Unai Emery.

"People upstairs sometimes don't know and it's not easy for them to make these decisions," he continued. And he attacked Emery directly: "It was a mistake. He wanted to treat his own staff and he couldn't even speak English..."

Lehmann is clear: Emery was not up to the task of running Arsenal. "I think it was a gift to him that he was chosen as coach. He wasn't good enough because of this language problem. He may have had good ideas in Spanish, but he couldn't translate them into English football," he concluded.
