Eddie Nketiah has called his Arsenal home debut a "dream come true" after his two goals sealed the victory for the Gunners in the EFL Cup.

The 18-year-old came off the bench for the hosts in the 85th minute and equalised against Norwich just 15 seconds after coming on.

As the game progressed into extra-time, he netted the winner in the 96th minute to guide Arsenal to victory and book a place in the quarter finals as the home fans found a new name to chant.

The EFL Cup game was Nketiah's first appearance at the Emirates, after he featured against BATE Borisov in the Europa League earlier this season, and it was a dream start for the teenager.

He told 'Sky Sports' after the game: "I'm just delighted to make my home debut and score two goals to win the game for Arsenal. It's a great feeling for me and my family.

"To hear the fans screaming my name, it's been a childhood dream for me. Hopefully it's just the start and you will see many more goals and better performances from me.

"It made me feel very privileged to be welcomed by the fans. It's a dream come true. I just want to continue impressing the fans and making them happy because they mean a lot to the club and to me."

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry was quick to offer congratulations to the youngster on Twitter, saying he was 'not surprised at all' by the performance.

Nketiah then sent a heartfelt reply, saying the tweet from the club's all-time record goalscorer 'means a lot'.
