Rumours of a possible transfer for Martin Zubimendi are making headlines in European football. While Arsenal seemed to have made the move - and indeed still think they have - Real Madrid have stepped in to try and convince the Real Sociedad midfielder.
The latest information comes from 'The Athletic'. David Ornstein claims that, despite Real Madrid's latest attempts, Arsenal are confident of signing the Spanish international this summer.
The Gunners' intention is for Zubimendi to be in Mikel Arteta's squad for the start of the 2025-26 pre-season. However, Real Sociedad will take the negotiation with patience, whichever club it is. And the media itself reports that the Zubieta club prefers the transfer to be made in July due to financial issues.
From Spain, “Marca” continues to claim that Zubimendi has stopped Arsenal's interest in Real Madrid, from whom he is awaiting a proposal. The only thing that is clear at this stage of the summer is that Real Sociedad are going to find it practically impossible to keep hold of the Spanish midfielder.
