Galatasaray president Dursun Ozbek confimed in a press conference that the club are working on a deal to bring Barcelona midfielder Arda Turan back to the club.

Turan was an unused substitute in Barcelona's 5-0 friendly win over Chapecoense on Monday. New manager Ernesto Valverde made 11 changes in the match, but did not give the Turkish international a chance at the Nou Camp on Monday night.

According to Spanish media, his exclusion from the game is a clear indication that the midfielder is not in the Spaniard's plans for the upcoming La Liga season.

Galatasaray are looking to take advantage of Turan's situation and are working on a deal to bring him back to the club where he made his professional debut in 2004.

The Turkish side's president, Dursun Ozbek, recently said 'Arda is a Galatasaray fan, he really loves the club and he is going to play for us again.'

'His only chance of playing in Turkey is here, and we hope he ends up seeing out his career at Galatasaray. We are working on his transfer.'

Turan is keen on fighting for his place at the Nou Camp, but it is understood that Barcelona are ready to cut their losses on the man they spent £30m on in 2015.
