Brazilian winger Antony slammed former Manchester United players and pundits such as Rio Ferdinand, Paul Scholes and Gary Neville, claiming they have made 'unfair' and 'malicious' comments about him.

Brazilian winger Antony has not been at his best since joining Manchester United last summer for £85m from Ajax, something that has earned him criticism on TV sports shows.

The Brazil international has neither scored nor assisted in the Premier League this season so far, prompting some pundits to criticise him, never mind that they are legends at the Mancunian club. Gary Neville has already described the Brazilian winger as "embarrassing" after kicking out at Jeremy Doku during United's 3-0 loss to Man City, while Paul Scholes and Rio Ferdinand haven't spoken too fondly of him lately either.

The former Ajax player, in comments to 'United Stand', has lashed out at the Red Devils legends, claiming they have made "unfair and malicious" comments and have never given him "constructive criticism".

"Today, I see criticism coming from former club players and other people in the media, who unreasonably express their opinions and influence thousands of fans, sometimes even when I do not play," he said.

"But I've never seen them give constructive criticism, which will help me be a better professional. None of them have ever sent me a message to see how I am feeling, especially during this period of turbulence that I am going through. I would like to know how these people who make these unfair and malicious criticisms fared in my place," Antony concluded.
